Across studies the reciprocal relationship between the artist and his environment and how it deeply impacts their own creative process. Throughout the history of humanity, the psychogeographical nature of artistic work has been a constant phenomenon. From Vincent van Gogh’s emotional mapping of his own mental state through the places in which he has existed to the sociopolitical class struggle of Mexican people in the 1920s that forged the powerful, emotionally charged murals of Diego Rivera. To put it more simply, artists paint what they see. This exhibition embodies that idea by providing a window to its audience, as it shows works by artists from different places, from the north to the south. It illustrates how the creative force of humanity transcends distance and turns it into an ideological medium that helps in the creation of individualized works of art. This exhibition is a celebration of how the beauty of diversity is unified in one space and how different works of art separated by physical and conceptual space are brought together by the passion of the artists that made them.
